Umbraco Awards

Categories 2026

If your project fits multiple categories, choose the one where it best demonstrates excellence. One project can only be submitted in two awards categories.

If you are curious, you can read about the winners of 2025 below.

Best Accessibility & Security solution

This category recognises Umbraco solutions that put accessibility, inclusivity, and security at the centre.

We’re looking for websites and solutions designed to be accessible for everyone—regardless of physical or cognitive ability—and built with strong security considerations in mind. This includes compliance with accessibility legislation such as the EU Web Accessibility Directive and the European Accessibility Act (EAA), as well as thoughtful implementation of inclusive and assistive technologies.

Meeting legal requirements is the baseline. This category celebrates solutions that go beyond compliance and demonstrate how accessibility and security are integrated into the overall experience.

Submission guidance

Please include:

  • Which accessibility standards or legislation the solution complies with (e.g. WCAG level, EAA)

  • Examples of inclusive design or assistive technology in use

  • How accessibility was tested or validated

  • Any relevant security considerations or practices

Best Innovation with AI

This category celebrates innovative AI-powered solutions built on top of Umbraco.

We’re looking for partners who have integrated AI into Umbraco in meaningful ways—whether in the backoffice, frontend, or across workflows. This could include AI-assisted content creation, automation, personalisation, decision support, or entirely new experiences enabled by AI.

There are no strict limits on what the solution can be, as long as it clearly demonstrates how Umbraco is used as the foundation.

Submission guidance

Please include:

  • A description of the AI functionality and its purpose

  • How AI is integrated with Umbraco (backoffice, frontend, workflows, or APIs)

  • The value it creates for editors, users, or the business

  • Screenshots or examples that show the solution in action

Best Cloud Solution

This category recognises outstanding projects built on Umbraco Cloud.

If you’ve created a solution that truly leverages Cloud-specific capabilities, this is your opportunity to showcase it. The jury is especially keen to see how Umbraco Cloud supports scalable, secure, and efficient development workflows.

Submission guidance

Please include:

  • Which Umbraco Cloud features are used (e.g., CI/CD, environments, baselines)

  • How Cloud enables scalability, stability, and collaboration

  • Why Umbraco Cloud was the right choice for this project

  • Any measurable benefits from using Cloud

Best Designed Site

This category celebrates websites that combine visual excellence with strong technical foundations.

We’re looking for designs that are visually striking while following web standards and accessibility best practices. Great design balances aesthetics, usability, and structure.

Submission guidance

Please include:

  • Design rationale and visual concept

  • How the design supports usability and accessibility

  • Examples of responsive or adaptive design

  • Screenshots or a live URL

Best Editing Experience

This category highlights solutions that deliver an exceptional experience for content editors.

A great editing experience makes everyday work easier, faster, and more intuitive. Show how your solution connects the frontend and backoffice in a way that empowers editors.

Submission guidance

Please include:

  • Screenshots or video of the backoffice setup

  • Explanation of editorial workflows

  • How editors interact with and manage content

  • Feedback or outcomes from real editors, if available

Best Commerce Solution (Umbraco Commerce)

This category recognises outstanding commerce solutions built with Umbraco Commerce.

We’re looking for projects that go beyond standard e-commerce functionality and show how content and commerce work together to create engaging, high-performing shopping experiences.

Submission guidance

Please include:

  • How Umbraco Commerce is used or extended

  • How content and commerce are integrated

  • Examples of custom or innovative commerce features

  • The value created for store owners and customers

Best Enterprise Solution

This category celebrates complex, enterprise-grade Umbraco solutions.

We’re looking for solutions built for large organisations with advanced requirements—such as integrations with PIM, CRM, ERP, or other enterprise systems—and often involving well-known brands.

Submission guidance

Please include:

  • Overview of the enterprise context and requirements

  • Systems and integrations involved (PIM, CRM, etc.)

  • Which enterprise Umbraco products are used (e.g. Workflow, Deploy)

  • How scalability, governance, and maintainability are handled

Best Umbraco Engage solution

This category celebrates creative and effective uses of Umbraco Engage.

We’re looking for solutions that use Engage in innovative ways to drive meaningful engagement and improved user experiences.

Submission guidance

Please include:

  • How Umbraco Engage is implemented

  • What engagement challenges it addresses

  • Examples of results or impact

  • Why this use of Engage is innovative

Nomination video guidelines

Submitting a video is not required for the first submission, but a great way to showcase your solution. If you are nominated in a category, submitting a video is mandatory.

  • Don’t worry about being fancy - a simple screen recording with an explanation is more than enough.

  • The video should be no longer than 2 minutes and without subtitles or music.

  • Upload your video to Vimeo and submit the link in the form below.
